Michael Douglas glad to be out and about "Golden Globes"

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Michael Douglas earned one of the loudest rounds of applause at the Golden Globes on Sunday when the cancer survivor took to the stage to present the final award of the ceremony.

"There's gotta be an easier way to get a standing ovation," Douglas told the crowd at the Beverly Hilton, days after revealing that he had beaten late-stage throat cancer.

He went on to announce "The Social Network" as the winner of the Globe's best drama award. Douglas was also a nominee, cited for his supporting role as financier Gordon Gekko in "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps." But he lost to awards-season favorite Christian Bale of "The Fighter."
